YMCA of Southern Maine is seeking Camp Counselors to join our camp team for Summer 2019.

The schedule is M-F, 30-40 hours weekly.

The Camp Counselor will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their specific group. The incumbent will possess experience and knowledge in the areas of camp counseling, administration skills, youth leadership skills and development, public relations, and experience working with children 5 - 14 years old.

Duties include but are not limited to: Providing leadership, direction and supervision to a large-group program which is consistent with the YMCA mission, goals and objectives of the YMCA of Southern Maine; conducting a safe, quality, and age-appropriate large group; being responsible during staff training and staff meetings to become completely familiar with the camping goals, programs, camp personnel policies, safely procedures, skill and protocols necessary to accomplish the specified position. Qualifications:

-Minimum age of 16 years

-Copy of necessary certifications and/or training certificates

-Previous Junior Counselor or equivalent experience

-Experience, knowledge, and ability to teach, and supervise campers in a variety of camp program activities.

-First Aid & CPR Certification
