Community Spay-Neuter Clinic of Topsham looking for part-time (8 hours/week) Foster-Adoption Coordinator needed to rescue, treat, place in foster, and place for adoption, kittens and adult cats for our Second Chance Kitties program. Candidates should have experience in shelter, rescue, or veterinary setting, be knowledgeable about cat behavior and basic medical needs, and live in easy commuting distance to the Topsham based clinic and available also to do intake and adoption at our Waterville satellite location. Duties include:
The aim of the program is to take in owner surrenders and homeless cats/kittens, provide all necessary veterinary and behavioral care, and adopt into the best fit homes as quickly as possible. The typical length of stay in the program is about 2 weeks.
Maintain relationships with foster volunteers, as well as recruit new volunteers as needed.
Schedule intake of new cats/kittens as space and time allows. Animals typically go straight from intake into foster care, spending very little time at the clinic.
Follow medical protocol and veterinary recommendations to ensure all animals are current on vaccines, dewormers, and additional medical care.
Maintain paper and electronic files of all cats/kittens, foster volunteers, and adopters.
Work with office staff and foster volunteers to coordinate spay/neuter surgery scheduling and booster appointments.
Promote available cats/kittens for adoption using PetFinder and Facebook page.
Report adoption information to PetSmart adoption partner.
