All hands-on deck!
Preble Street is seeking experienced temporary As- Needed Shelter Support Staff to provide onsite
support to clients at our temporary emergency 24-hour shelter, that has been established as a cross-collaborative effort between the State of Maine and community providers to provide short-term housing to individuals who are experiencing homelessness. The shelter will include a section for clients that have tested positive for COVID-19 and/or need to quarantine. Functioning as part of a team, the As-Needed staff will conduct brief needs assessments to clients during their transitional stay at the shelter. As-Needed staff will also be monitoring and assessing safety and performing general housekeeping tasks under the direction of the shelter leadership.
The regular pay for this opportunity is $15/hr. During this critical time, however, Preble Street is paying
time and a half for all hours worked in shelter, food, and coverage programming.
Overnight shifts are awake shifts with an additional $2 differential.
As Needed staff work up to 28 hours a week.
If you can be part of this community solution and have positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness,
let’s talk!
