Join the Oak Hill Beverage team! We are hiring full and part-time sales associates for year-round positions and hiring as soon as we find the best candidates.
We seek someone who is interested in wine, craft beer and/or spirits, has a desire to really learn more about both, has uncanny attention to details, and MOSTLY someone who is excited to work on the team at our well-established but fast-growing store! We have part-time and full-time hours available - including evenings and weekends. You’ll have a set schedule every week tailored to your needs and ours, but we might also need you to pick up shifts when others need time off. And of course, pre and post holidays are busy hours at the store with all hands on deck.

Full and Part-time Sales Associates:
The Job:
You have a strong desire to learn more, are comfortable on the phone, and are genuinely enthusiastic, a team player, naturally friendly and enjoy being around and talking to lots of different people with different needs. You will enjoy sampling a range of our products so you can best serve our customers. You are physically capable of working for periods of time on your feet have the ability to lift a case of wine (about 30 pounds), and even though we do have a slower season, even then we can get slammed with a line so you need to handle retail rushes with confidence and precision while maintaining a friendly and “interested in helping” attitude!
Basic duties:
Sales and Customer Service: Greet and (eventually) determine the needs of every customer that walks through the door. Provide floor assistance, know what is new, follow up about special requests, phone people with confirmation. Must be precise — people plan events and buy supplies from us, we need to be accurate.
Register:
Consider this a primary duty (it's a form of customer service!). We have two registers with only one open many days. Very basic to operate but obviously attention to detail is key!
Receiving, Merchandising, and Maintenance: A shop should look full. You will learn where back stock items are located, which vendor supplies us, insure prices are ok from invoice to shelf. In a slow month we receive over 225 cases of wine in a month! We look to you to help think of new ways to merchandise new items and to help maintain a clean, well-organized store.

Oak Hill Beverage is a single location, independent, family run, high volume, customer service focused store with greater Portland’s best selection of wine, craft beer, and spirits. We feature 2000+ wines, 999+ beer labels, and 1,500+ spirits labels! The shop is a busy place with amazing loyal year-round customers as well as summer residents and tourists. The owner is passionate about the culture and craft of fine wine, beer and spirits and works in the store nearly every day, can be seen carrying out orders, cleaning and helping customers. Our small team consists of a handful of exceptionally dedicated and hardworking folks who don’t mind wearing more than a few hats and stepping in to help out wherever needed.
