MacRevival + Archangel Computers is not your typical computer repair shop. Unlike our competitors, we specialize not in Macs or PCs, but in people. Our goal is simple: to take something our customers are not happy with, and make them happy. Yes, we have years of combined experience in every aspect of the computer repair business - Mac repair, PC repair, support and networking - but what truly matters to us is making our customers happy.
To that effect, we are seeking a technician. Someone who is extremely people oriented, with wide ranging and solid technical skills and troubleshooting abilities. Someone who is extremely detail oriented, has strong hardware skills, and is able to explain complex technology concepts clearly and kindly to a variety of customers. Someone who is a puzzle solver.
Technician duties include:
Diagnosis and repair of computers and peripherals
Perform simple to complex upgrades and repairs
Accurate record keeping
Troubleshoot problems with our highly experienced team
Assess needs and advise customers on product purchases
Strong Mac and Windows installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
New computer setups, data transfers, and data recovery
Technician will also assist with sales and day-to-day operations, as needed. These duties include:
Provide customer service on all levels
Answer phone calls, in store customer questions
Schedule jobs and use Point of Sale system
Invoice clients and take payment
Keep store/work area clean and organized
Be personable to service retail customers
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience repairing desktop and laptop computers
Strong understanding of Windows 10 and Mac OS X; iOS and Android familiarity a plus
Experience setting up and troubleshooting computers and peripherals including printers, external storage, and wireless routers
Good manual dexterity with small tools and components
Ability to show patience and solve/troubleshoot complex technical problems.
Bonus Skills:
Good networking skills for home and small business with good understanding of TCP/IP and firewalls
Cellular phone and tablet hardware repairs
Experience building custom PC computers
Additional Requirements:
Have an aptitude for acquiring skills in technical repairs and an eagerness to learn
Be well organized and able to work on multiple tasks under pressure
Excellent written and verbal (on phone and in person) communication is mandatory
Effective listening skills
Be a consummate professional at all times when dealing with clients
This is a part time position with the possibility of additional hours at the Belfast Archangel Computers location. Our normal operating hours are Mon-Fri 10AM-6PM, Sat 10A-3PM. We are flexible on days available to work (minimum 24 hours per week). We will determine compensation based upon level of experience.
