Current licensure as an APRN and RN in the State of Maine, or eligibility for Maine licensure, and national certification as a family nurse practitioner are required.

Ability to develop both faculty and students in the ongoing enterprise of advanced practice education of primary care nurse practitioner graduate students

A Master of Science in Nursing

Valid State of Maine RN license by date of hire

Commitment to teaching, professional development, and service

Minimum of one years of clinical experience as a family nurse practitioner required; the faculty must have documented expertise in his or her area(s) of teaching responsibility

Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred:

Ph.D. or DNP in nursing, or related field

One year of documented college/university-level teaching experience including didactic, clinical, or laboratory courses in a graduate nursing program

Experience with areas of rural health emphasis.

Experience with particular populations of special interest to the state, including but not limited to population health, substance abuse, and aging.

Preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach or contribute to the following courses in a specified area of clinical expertise:

NUR 520 Family Nurse Practitioner Care: Neonate to Adolescent.NUR 502 Family in Health and Illness.NUR 521 FNP Gynecologic and Reproductive Care of Women.NUR 522 Family Nurse Practitioner Care of Adults I.NUR 523 Family Nurse Practitioner Care of Adults II.Other Information:Materials must be submitted via "Apply For Position" below.
