Description
Candidates with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues will be preferred for the PC Technician opening at Robert Half. This role may be for you if you are a self-starter and a problem solver who enjoys working in a positive, dynamic environment. For the long-term contract / temporary PC Technician role, you will be positioned in the Scarborough, Maine, area.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble, pack, move and set up/install on site
- Disassemble, box and ship equipment that is out of date
- Install printers, and troubleshoot and repair issues
- Image and set up new computers
- Complete transferal of data from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware as well as break/fix
- Follow company quality standards to ensure the integrity of all electronic data records
- Track equipment inventory, and suggest and assist with purchases
- Take responsibility for technology implementation projects and carry them out
- Interface with ticket submitters regularly and effectively
- Service a variety of computer hardware, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and refurbishing PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, and other IT equipment
- Record daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions or installation activities
- Communicate with suitable vendors to coordinate needed repairs
- Help test functionality and support end users
Requirements
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
- Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required
- No stranger to network design and implementation strategies
- navigating basic office equipment and protocols experience
- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
- 1 - 3 years of experience supporting hardware and software for PC and Mac, and knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
- A certification in CompTIA A+ is mandatory
