DescriptionPolaris Alpha Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is seeking a Computer Scientist to support the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) at the client site in Adelphi, MD East Campus.Candidate should specialize in autonomous robotics software development and have proven experience in this area. Duties will include:
Perform system architecture and design for autonomous robotics that spans sensor fusion for localization, motion planning, navigation, control as well as higher-level intelligence functionality, e.g., map exploration.
Refactor and optimize prototype software algorithms developed by ARL researchers and Academic collaborators.
Enable experiments that support fundamental research in the areas of robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Innovation and development of new autonomous capabilities in line with ARL mission to develop fully autonomous maneuver for robotic systems.
Develop and execute verification and validation test processes on prototype software algorithms
Prepare and/or present presentations and written documents summarizing efforts in Government format for Form 1 approval (process of instruction provided by COR as GFI). Upon TO COR request, Contractor personnel shall present the information to the ARL staff, universities, private corporations, research institutes, national laboratories, or other Government research centers.
Required qualifications/experience:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience; Master of Science or PhD preferred.
Demonstrated strong software engineering and design fundamentals
Knowledge of localization and mapping techniques
Knowledge of optimization-based control and planning
Fluency in C/C Experience with Robotics Operating System (ROS) and simulation environments
Experience developing in a Linux environment
Experience with system integration and system-level design
This position requires the selected candidates to hold an active Department of Defense secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.Ready for action?
