Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Dodon seeks to provide its wine club members and guests with an elegant, impeccable, warm, and familiar experience. To achieve this goal, the successful applicant will assist the Dodon team to plan and execute events, tastings, and club activities as well as various other winery and vineyard activities.

This position is full time and requires consistent availability Thursdays-Sundays, with days off taking place on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of each week. A foundation of wine knowledge is preferred.

Specific tasks will include:

• Host scheduled tours of the vineyard and winery and tastings for prospective club members. Tours and tastings take place Thursdays - Sundays and other times by appointment.

• Manage database of customers and mailing lists. Correspond with customers and offer the highest level of customer service.

• Plan, execute, and evaluate all wine club events, including hikes, comparative tastings, parties, dinners, winter hours, and picnics: to include planning, set up and breakdowns, sales, vendor coordination, direct wine and food service.

• Manage Dodon 'til Dusk & Winter Club hours. To include planning, staffing, managing caterer relationship, RSVPs, planning, setup, execution and breakdown.

• Manage Wine Club allocations: track orders, pack orders, ship wine, staff club pick-up events.

• Develop and execute corporate events and tastings.

• Conduct off-site tastings at retail accounts.

• Make occasional wine deliveries.

• Complete office work: emails, phone calls; track and analyze data.

• Manage part time staff schedules.

As time permits, this employee may also be asked to assist the production team with tasks such as picking and sorting fruit during harvest, cellar tasks such as pump-overs, and bottling.

Qualifications

• Highest level of customer service skills; professional demeanor and appearance; outgoing personality; entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and leadership; commitment to excellence, including the highest standards of work and accountability, and continuous improvement; ability to successfully manage priorities and workflow for multiple simultaneous projects.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work unsupervised.

• Exceptional, professional written and oral communication skills.

• At least 2-years of experience in wine retail, hospitality and event staffing (or equivalent) desired; exceptional, similar experience from other industries will be considered.

• At minimum, Associate degree in business, marketing, or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Advanced PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Working knowledge of CRM is helpful.

• Graphic design, photography, and social media skills are helpful.

• Passionate about wine. Knowledgeable about wine, viticulture, and enology.

• Formal wine education preferred. Court of Master Sommelier introductory course or Wine & Spirits Education Trust Level II preferred. Equivalent training or experience will be considered.

Requirements

Must have a valid US driver's license, own transportation and be able to lift 40 pounds.

Weekend availability required.
