APS is seeking a qualified sailor to run and supervise our retail storefront in Annapolis Maryland. Our storefront team works as solution providers and educators helping sailors find and purchase the best product to suit their needs. Not only will you be leading the success of the storefront, but like all team members at APS your role will focus on providing a great customer experience, creating customers for life.
This position is for someone who wants to take ownership of a retail operation, and continue to build its success.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the effective day to day management of the retail storefront
Assist customers with their purchase decision making, and provide solutions for their needs within our offering or apparel, rigging, line, hardware and accessories.
Recommend and specify materials and configurations for wire and line rigging orders, for running and standing rigging.
Maintain an easy to shop and well merchandised storefront
Consistently seek out new product trends and product knowledge
Maintain a positive and motivating work environment in order to provide the best possible experience for both coworkers and customers
Act as brand ambassadors for APS and add value to overall the customer experience utilizing your sailing knowledge and experience.
Look for ways to improve APS processes, procedures, services, and products
Continually provide, develop and implement ways to improve the customers storefront shopping experience, such that APS is providing a superior customer experience.
Perform daily maintenance in store including stocking of apparel, creating displays, and light cleaning
Works in other functional areas as necessary
Qualifications
Experienced and passionate about sailing - cruising and racing sailboats
Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sailing and the APS product offering
Ability to communicate in a clear, professional manner
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Ability to quickly learn about products, processes, and software
Strong organizational and follow through skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast paced environment
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 8 hour
Education and Experience
Experience in sailing a wide variety of boats dinghy and keelboat, cruising and racing.
High School Diploma required, Bachelors Degree or higher preferred
Experience working in retail, sales or hospitality industry useful but not required
