Reputable company seeks to hire an experienced Transportation Manager.

Looking for a strong leader with excellent time management & communication skills.

The Transportation Manager is responsible for the success of all daily operational functions within a highly complex distribution center. The desired outcome is to have a high degree of operational excellence and offer our associates a great place to work. The Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and supervising a team of CDL Class A Drivers in Outbound Deliveries and Office Operations. The Transportation Manager develops strategies, goals and action plans to ensure safety and DOT Compliance. Ideal candidates will have an effective leadership style that builds and maintains effective teams, peer relationships and internal customer standards. Role will interact with associates in the corporate, retail, and warehousing areas along with third party vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Keep organized records of vehicles, driver schedules and completed delivery orders

• Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment

• Approving, monitoring and implement corrective actions for repeat expenses.

• Organize and coordinate scheduled training sessions for new and regular employees, as well as correction

action training

• Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods

• Ensure quality of shipments before they are sent out

• Stay up-to-date with safety regulations

• Responsible for maintaining company Health and Safety including OSHA standards, and promotes Safety

standards

• Executes SOPs and hold your team accountable, including progressive discipline when necessary

• Manages employee time and attendance, and updates hours appropriately

• Completes and revises daily end of shift reports

• Provides feedback to develop employees and future leaders

• Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies

• Report to warehouse management on activities and issues

• Route analysis & compile route instructions.

• Safety focused culture.

• Familiar with ELD & video monitoring platforms in the trucks and in the system.

• Review log audits, coachable events.

• Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Problem-solving abilities

• Ability to supervise and train staff

• Communicate updates and needs to warehouse, customer, and carriers

• Must be accurate with attention to detail.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule (until work is done), including nights, weekends, and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in transportation with at least 3 years’ in a management/supervisory role. Those without this experience will not be considered.

Qualified candidate must have experience with all aspects of trucking operations including but not limited to: managing dispatch, customer service, ensuring loads are on time, address any issues that come up in a timely & cost-effective manner.

Must be able to communicate with drivers and build a team atmosphere

Must possess a valid CDL Class A license

Clean driving record

No felony convictions

Must be capable of training drivers in FMCSR’s, truck inspection procedures

Must pass background check DOT physical, drug test, and road test

Must possess the skills required to road test drivers

$75K to $85K depending on qualifications

This is a full time, permanent position.
