Peraton is currently seeking an Embedded Design Engineer to support our customer in the Fort Meade, MD area.

The individual will be responsible for preparing working plans, detailed drawings and completed mechanical or electrical drawings of assemblies from notes, verbal instructions, and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes. They will be responsible for Software/Firmware development, hardware design, system integration, and system testing of embedded systems as well as verifying completed design elements, evaluating dimensions, materials to be used, and quantities. They also will be required to quickly advance from concepts to working products.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, e.g., Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 3 years' experience in embedded hardware design or reverse engineering.
  • Experience with current reverse engineering tools and techniques.
  • Experience using EDA tools such as Orcad, Altium, Autocad, Solid Works or similar to prepare detailed electro-mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout practices and determining constraints.
  • Ability to develop, integrate and test embedded system software, firmware, and hardware using surface mount technologies and real-time processes.
  • Experience with Telecommunications Standards and protocols.
  • Ablity to integrate operating systems, open source and third party software.
  • Active Secret Clearance reqiuired with the ability to obtain a higher level clearance if needed.

Desired Qualifications
  • System on chip (SoC) experience.
  • Familiarity with RF systems and Silicon based transceivers.
  • x86, 64, ARM, and 8051 processor experience.
  • Programming languages: C/C, Java, C#.
