The Green House is an all Vegan juice cafe located in Charles Village, Baltimore. We are in the seventh year of nourishing our community with a variety of salads, smoothies, juices, sandwiches, soups, deserts, and good vibes.
We are currently seeking a dynamic Cafe Manager to organize daily operations and motivate our staff to ensure high standards based upon great product and presentation, business practices, and warm hospitality and service.
To be successful in this role you should have work experience with various roles in coffee shops, cafés and restaurants. Also, you should be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and at least 2 evening shifts.
Ultimately, you will help develop a winning team, increase profitability, boost customer engagement, and enhance the profile of our cafe.
Responsibilities:
-Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe
-Hire and onboard new Green Team members
-Train employees on drink and food preparation, proper use of all equipment, product knowledge, customer service, upselling, etc.
-Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (like takeaway cups, produce, and other ingredients)
-Maintain updated records of daily, weekly and monthly revenues and expenses
-Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers preferences
-Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with customers and deliver excellent customer service
-Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy and aligned with the cafe aesthetic
-Manage social media engagement
-Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation
Requirements:
-Work experience as a Cafe or Restaurant Manager
-Hands-on experience with professional food equipment
-Good math skills
-Availability to work morning, evening, and weekend hours
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
-Proactive hospitality service attitude
-Social media marketing aptitude
-High school diploma
-Additional certification (e.g. in Business Administration, Food Handling or Hospitality) is a plus
