University of Maryland Baltimore(UMB) is currently seeking a Contract & Grants Coordinator to join Department of Diagnostic Radiology.This entry-level professional position is in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Under the supervision of the Research Administrator, the successful candidate will coordinate and administer contracts and grants from proposal review and submission through award close-out, with an emphasis on federal funding. Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine’s growing research portfolio includes basic, translational, and clinical research. The department works with diverse funding streams, including NIH and numerous industry and foundation partners.BENEFITS:UMB offers a generous benefits package that includes 22 vacation days, 14 floating and holidays, 15 sick days; comprehensive health insurance and retirement options; and tuition remission for employees and their dependents at any of the University System of Maryland schools.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:· Provides review and oversight of grant application and contract proposal submissions by following application instructions and assisting the Principal Investigator in preparing the required documents.· May review and recommend for signature clinical research agreements, confidential disclosure agreements, sub-recipient agreements, and other agreements of moderate complexity.· Reviews terms and conditions of new grant agreements and evaluates changes to pre-existing agreements, seeking clarification as necessary.· Post award responsibilities include review of all grant and contract modifications including changes to scope of work, budget modifications, pre-award expenditures, no cost extensions, and carryover requests of unobligated balances.· May act as point of contact and advise PIs on financial transactions, such as travel, purchasing, or subcontracting.· Assists with monthly reporting and reconciling all sponsored and departmental research revolving accounts. Works with senior staff on identified ledger variances.· Assists with coordinating and processing study participant payments for multiple studies as well as organizing and maintaining required documentation.· Assists with tracking and billing for deliverable contracts.· Organizes and maintains effective filing system for all grants and contracts documents.· Performs other duties as assigned.Education:Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, public administration, or other appropriate field.Experience:One (1) year of directly related accounting, budget, contract, grant or research administration experience.Preferred:Knowledge of NIH grants. Experience in financial management of grants and contracts.
