Position: Kitchen Manager/Cook

Type: Full Time

Mystic Burrito is seeking an experienced kitchen manager/ cook to take charge of kitchen operations, including leading the staff in all matters related to food preparation. You will be required to ensure that there are adequate food supplies, to plan the menu, and to see that the kitchen and equipment are kept immaculate at all times.

To be successful in this position, you should have the creativity to develop new recipes and the leadership skills to ensure that your team understands what is required of them. An excellent kitchen manager/cook should be able to handle multiple duties simultaneously and should be extremely organized in a high volume setting.

Duties an Responsibilities:

Prepare a variety of West Coast eats with speed, efficiency and love.

Ensure the highest quality standards in every product.

Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

Managing and training cooks and other kitchen staff.

Planning and supervising tasks carried out by the food preparation staff.

Taking responsibility for the health and safety of the food team.

Planning food menus and ensuring that the menu is fresh and well presented.

Keeping abreast of culinary trends and incorporating these into the menu.

Developing recipes and determining how best to present dishes.

Ordering food and supplies, and keeping an updated inventory.

Dealing with suppliers and checking that the correct food and supplies have been delivered at the quoted prices.

Checking regularly that the equipment and work areas are kept spotless.

Keeping abreast of and complying with the latest health and safety laws and regulations.

Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Training at a community college, technical school, culinary arts school, or 4-year college.

At least 2 years’ experience working as a head cook in the restaurant industry.

Knowledge of culinary trends.

A proven ability to create unique and delicious dishes.

The ability to multitask and cope in a high-pressure environment.

Excellent team leadership and communication skills.

Bilingual Spanish/English

Position: Cashiers

Type: Full and Part Time

Two Shifts Available:

Day Shift: 10am-4pm

Night Shift: 4pm to close

Responsibilities:

Provide a pleasant and efficient customer-focused experience.

Register meal orders on a cash register and inputs orders on a computerized device via a point of sale

(POS) platform by scanning items, and itemizing and totaling customer purchases.

Resolves customer issues and answers questions about offerings and purchasing processes.

Process return transactions.

Contribute to inventory management.

Enter price changes into POS platform.

Discount purchases by redeeming coupons.

Collect payments by accepting cash, checks, or charge payments and makes change for customers.

Verify credit acceptance and operates credit card authorization systems.

Balance cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of work shifts by following checkout procedures.

Provide pricing information to customers.

Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.

Bag orders for eat in, to go and/or delivery.

Requirements:

Experience preferred, but will train the right person.

Friendly, positive attitude.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.

Basic math skills

Teamwork oriented with attention to detail.

Position: Line Cooks

Type: Full and Part Time

Two Shifts Available:

Day Shift: 10am-4pm

Night Shift: 4pm to close

Prepare a variety of Cal Mex Fusion eats with speed, efficiency and love.

Ensure the highest quality standards in every product.

Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

Perform inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

Must be able to work under pressure when busy.

Collaborate with the Head Cook and Owner to create new and exciting menu items.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Requirements:

Proven 1 year of experience as a line cook or a similar role.

Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Strong knowledge and experience with various cooking techniques. Ingredients, and procedures.

Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and follows instructions/directions.

Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

Creativity, friendliness and a passion for cooking.

Teamwork oriented with attention to detail.

Familiar with industry best practices.

Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred, but not mandatory.

Position: Bookkeeper

Type: Part Time

What We Offer:

Qualifications/Skills:

Knowledge of and ability to learn essential QuickBooks accounting software and filing systems.

A general understanding of the main accounting principles, such as accruals, revenue, debits and credits

Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.

Knowledge of relevant tax requirements and how to prepare basic tax documentation.

Education and Requirements:

Must be local and able to come onsite, office filing, etc

Relevant degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
