Establish and maintain architecture framework(s) for Java, web applications.
Facilitate the creation of architecture in collaboration with Agile scrum development teams.
Ensure architecture aligns with IRS Enterprise Architecture and leverages existing architecture components.
Mentor and transition architectural knowledge to scrum teams.
Use experience from Agile implementations to develop a process for architecture creation, integration, and review.
Participate fully in release and integration planning meetings by providing input on backlog prioritization, by providing adequate and timely acceptance criteria for new or enhanced software designs, and by explaining costs and efficiencies of backlog items to Product Managers and other stakeholders.
Identify when architectural spikes are needed, and provide enough design for proof of concept.
Minimum Requirements:
Typically requires an advanced technical degree and a minimum of 12 years in progressively responsible positions.
Individual contributor who oversees large, technically complex projects.
Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
Position is recognized as a subject matter expert within a particular discipline.
Some barriers to entry exist at this level (Sr Executive approval).
Knowledgeable of emerging trends and may contribute to and influence best practices within discipline.
