job summary:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, administration, enhancement, monitoring, and support of a variety of Windows-based systems and related infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to Windows Server 2012\16 Administration, Active Directory, File and Print servers, Microsoft Exchange\Office 365, technologies, MS SQL, SharePoint, Citrix, CommVault, SolarWinds, and VMware. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for reviewing needed security patches for various systems and performing research necessary to execute patch management plans.

  • Analyze organization's needs, conduct technical research, and implement appropriate solutions to meet needs and comply with department standards
  • Ensure high availability of all critical applications and servers while meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define, implement, and enhance enterprise monitoring services based on business requirements and Service Level Agreements
  • Develop system monitoring templates and ensure adherence to monitoring standards based on business requirements
  • Implement advanced functions of Office 365 including security, governance and compliance
  • Work closely with technical teams to detect network faults and performance issues and proactively implement monitoring services and alerts to prevent future occurrences
  • Collect and analyze network monitoring data to assist with determining root cause of performance issues
  • Ensure a rapid response to patch management requirements by assessing risk, devising a plan, and executing plans to all servers, server components, and other devices
  • Establish and validate full functionality of disaster recovery environment for critical business application
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders, often in combination with travel
  • Other skills related to building a career in systems administration
