job summary:
Schedule: M-F 8 to 5. We are flexible on start and end and can be 9 to 6
Temp to perm
The duties will be:
1. Perform PCB placement and layout
2. Create test plans for new product
3. Update existing firmware code base
4. Create/update Bill of Materials and other design artifacts
5. Evaluate end of life change notifications and select new parts.
6. Analyze field failures for corrective actions
7. Other duties as needed.
Must have experience in:
o Implementing analog & digital designs using schematic capture software tool (Orcad) which include generating net lists, parts lists and printed circuit board layout.
o Design layout, component placement and trace routing.
o Guide Mechanical design for enclosures
o Firmware development experience with C or C
o Development experience with ARM processors
o Analyzing unit failures and developing corrective actions.
o Debugging/Testing all parts of analog & digital designs.
o Evaluating end-of-life and component change notifications and sourcing alternate components
o Maintaining configuration management of HW items.
o Creation of clear and concise HW specifications, design documentation, HW-related detailed design documentation, BOMs and Parts Lists, verification tests and reports.
o Implementing modifications to automated test equipment and test software.
o Experience implementing serial communications interfaces (such as CAN, USB, I2C, SPI, RS232 & RS485)
o Awareness of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues
o Experience using scope, logic analyzer and standard lab tools
o strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in following is a Plus:
o Experience with Cypress PSoC6 microprocessor series
o Implementing audio amplifier circuit and analog board design
o Familiarity with Compliance standards (MIL, SAE, FCC, EN).
Education:
BS in EE or equivalent experience preferred
