We have an immediate opening for an experienced, highly motivated, professional IT consultant to work on a dynamic team that manages all aspects of networked systems - from user support to computers, servers, and networks. The candidate must be a solutions based thinker able to identify and suggest new strategies or solutions to enhance performance within the clients current infrastructure and operating environment and see them through to completion.
Candidates must have a strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems (including XP/ Vista/ 7 /8/ Server 2003/ 2008/ 2012/ 2016) and Mac iOS based systems. Other requirements include experience administering email systems, backup software, firewalls, routers and databases, and 3 or more years of experience in architecting and supporting a high availability, scalable, and cost-effective network of computers and related communications equipment.
The consultant is responsible for professionally engaging clients and assisting with the installation, support and maintenance of the organization's network and server infrastructure. The infrastructure includes: routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points,
servers (Microsoft Windows and Exchange), desktops, backup systems, antivirus systems, virtual environments, and others.
Responsibilities include:
Administer network and server infrastructures
Diagnose and repair network and hardware issues
Manage, maintain and troubleshoot VOIP systems
Manage, maintain backup systems and processes
Manage software release processes and updates
Install and configure new hardware and software (some strenuous activity required)
Experience with Windows Server 2003- 2016, Exchange 2007- 2016, Windows 7- 10 Professional, and Apple Mac OS
Workable understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, LDAP, DNS, VOIP, VPN and Network Security
Managing Windows Active Directory schemas, DHCP, DNS, etc.
Provide Level 1 and 2 desktop and server support services (Mac/Windows)
Perform routine audits of systems and software
Maintain systems and network security
Monitor and manage network and server performance
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (3+ years)
