DescriptionJob Summary:This position is responsible overseeing a variety of field activities performed by contracting companies. Field activities could include Transmission pipeline inspection, regulator station inspection, Distribution System inspection, weld inspection, and record keeping. This position requires an intimate knowledge of operations activities, procedures, and code requirements.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee pipeline and gas distribution field activities performed by contracting company personnel ensuring that applicable construction standards and regulatory requirements are met.
Perform Quality Control checks on work being performed by field personnel.
Record an accurate record of work performed by contracting company personnel.
Conduct safety inspections to ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA standards.
Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the utility or pipeline industries or a related industry.
Knowledge of gas distribution, pipeline and/or facility code requirements and procedures (OSHA, DOT192, regional codes, operation manuals, etc.).
Collaborative approach to problem solving.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with other workers.
Unquestioned business and personal integrity.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Must possess mobility to work in a field setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the Firm; must also be able to work at a desk for short periods of time (1-2 hours); must be able to work in the field for long periods of time (8 – 12 hours); strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.Level: ExperiencedJob Location: Forest Hill/CNA - Forest Hill, MDEducation Level: Not Specified
