What You Will Do:

Provides work direction and leadership to production employees within the guidelines of standard work rules and employment policies. Monitors all stages of the production process and ensures accurate fulfillment of customer orders through appropriate production scheduling. Holds self and others accountable for promoting safety rules and regulations; acts in accordance with requirements for safety and quality.

  • Schedules work and provides clear direction to employees. Ensures that daily production goals are met.
  • Responsible for the sanitation of the production equipment through monitoring the work of associates. This includes but is not limited to: coaching/training associates on how to clean properly, inspect the work upon completion and monitor filling out required paperwork.
  • Monitors all equipment used in production process to ensure that equipment is functioning efficiently and is in good running condition. Arranges for timely repair/resolution of equipment failures.
  • Inspect plant facilities and equipment daily. Inspect jobs in process and at completion to ensure standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.
  • Actively support, monitor, and implement effective preventive maintenance programs to minimize unscheduled downtime, making adjustments as needed.
  • Responsible for training new employees on all production equipment.
  • Works effectively with employees to promote positive and productive working relationships. Understands and effectively applies work rules and employment policies. Administers discipline consistently and fairly. Works with Human Resources and plant management to resolve employee grievances. Actively communicates with employees through shift meetings and informal methods.
  • Understands and fulfills requirements of SQF 2000 Level 3 code of regulation for food safety and quality. Fosters continuous improvement to maintain the SQF 2000 Level 3 certification.
  • Assist with maintaining and ordering repair and maintenance parts, supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Assists with compiling and analyzing production and cost data for required company and government reports.

Education and Work Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience as a supervisor preferred (plastics manufacturing experience preferred.)
  • Leadership Effectiveness, Problem Solving, Initiative
