American Direct, a web offset printing company located in Baltimore MD, is looking for experienced pressmen for our night shift. Running mostly high volume, high quality direct mail component parts. Job responsibility includes running continuous forms in up to 8 colors that generally finish rewound as rolls or sheets. The pressman's responsibility includes, but is not limited to pulling work tickets and entering production into a computer, operating all facets of the printing press from splicer to rewinder, setting, adjusting and replacing rollers, setting ink, pinholes and perfs, register, and water, performing basic maintenance and upkeep, and more. Production performance is reviewed regularly by management and is the basis for pay scales, interim bonuses, and overall success in the company.
Pressmen work 12 hour days, 3 days per week from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Sunday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Friday. The shifts rotate every 8 weeks from Sunday-Tuesday to Wednesday Friday.
The ideal candidate for this position has 3 or more years specifically running continuous forms (ideally direct mail and/or litho envelopes) on narrow web presses made by Sanden or similar manufacturer. Web offset experience is required as is UV ink experience. Candidates that are proficient with Sanden 1500 or 1200 presses, GEC turret rewinders, and CC1 peripherals are specifically desired. A proven history of stable employment and quality performance is expected.
