The ideal candidate will serve in the role as a Case Manager/Technical Lead in the Cyber Security Integration Division (CSID) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Candidate will work in a fast paced, dynamic environment providing excellent project management, customer service, communications and documentation support to customers and various stakeholders. The candidate should have the leadership capability to create and maintain relationships with NASA Managers, system administrators, programmers, assessors, and CISO's office; and should possess the knowledge, and the experience to plan, coordinate, and control information assurance and system security management efforts for organizations such as NASA.Responsibilities:

Assist the Service Manager Team Lead with distribution, monitoring and review of daily tasks, efforts and projects. Provide guidance and direction to team and division members as needed on supported processes and procedures. Participate in leadership meetings and retreats and when necessary on behalf of Service Manger Team Lead.

Provide direct project support (coordinate meetings, agendas, and monthly status reports).

Prepare presentational materials and circulate artifacts for signature relevant to security processes and operations.

Provide technical writing services for ongoing projects and initiatives within the division.

Create, maintain, and document processes and procedures following standards and policies, including security configuration and change management.

Provide good technical writing support for content development and formal review activities; skilled with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.

Assess, create, and track remediation timelines with system owners as it relates to email, web, and security control compliance.

Act as a network incident first responder for Security incidents by reviewing, verifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.

Own and lead security efforts/projects that seek to improve workflows and processes that integrate with operations, governance & risk, and security engineering teams.

Provide timely technical support to Federal mandates and directives.

Candidate must possess the following skills:

Have excellent communication skills and Customer service/relationship skills - Comfortable speaking with broad range of audiences and presentation acumen.

Provide all levels of cybersecurity related support required as well as expert level as the point of escalation for end-user.

Be a team player who is comfortable with interfacing with a variety of teams which include but are not limited to incident response, vulnerability management, security engineering, and network engineering.

Must be proficient in developing and presenting, both verbally and in writing, technical information and presentations to non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization.

A Top Candidate will have knowledge of the various operating systems and databases, and related security, programming code security, authentication and encryption, firewalls, network topologies, security monitoring, and disaster recovery.

Knowledge of the NIST 800 series Special Publications (SP) and federal security guidelines.

Can support ISSO and Information Security Architects to provide technical review of services.

Understand and ensure applicable IT security policies are being met across the center

Strong understanding of ports, protocols, cipher and security best practice standards.

Possess ability to coordinate, track, monitor and deliver all firewall change requests through the ITIL service lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, having a strong understanding of the current/future network architecture, understand common ports and protocols, recommending proper controls, providing a risk-based analysis to the Sr. Security Engineer, conducting a thorough review of all firewall change requests.

Have knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN systems, network applications and their operation, maintenance and sustaining engineering.

Experience planning, coordinating and ensuring successful completion of internal and external IT system security/policy audits.

Have Project/Task Management experience.

Ability to develop, recommend and implement security controls (functional and technical) to meet security policy requirements.

Can create, maintain, and document processes and procedures following standards and policies, including security configuration and change management.
