You will provide direct client support and learn to support, own, and drive business development to allow for career progression and future challenging (and rewarding) project assignments. As

Director of

Department of Transportation (DOT) Grants & Financial Management Optimization Projects, you will lead one or more existing teams in the delivery of grants and financial management optimization services to our Transportation clients. An immediate need includes leading an important and large emergency grant (financial assistance) program providing integrated program and financial risk, controls, and compliance; operational strategy and effectiveness; and data management services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leadership and execution of client engagements to Transportation clients centered around grants and financial management services

• Client relationship management

• Leadership, mentoring and growth of more junior members of the Transportation team, including recruitment

• Thought leadership/knowledge capital development

• New business development and sales

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of:

• Advising government clients on a wide range of federal financial management topics, including grants

• Developing solutions to solve financial process and policy challenges for government clients

• Quickly building knowledge of the management and financial requirements for new programs

• Driving ongoing process improvement to enhance delivery quality

• Mentoring and coaching team members to enable their growth and development

• Supporting business development activities, including, but not limited to, identifying and positioning for new opportunities, leading proposals, and meeting with potential clients and teaming partners

• Being adaptable to changing client requirements and asks

• Demonstrating the desire to grow your career, learn new skills, challenge yourself, and increase your capabilities and competencies

Qualifications

Required:

• Management consulting and client service background

• 10+ years of relevant Public Sector management consulting experience

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university

• Ability to lead technical workstreams related to grants and/or financial management programs, including in a client-facing role, with a strong commitment to quality and standardization

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated experience overseeing the work of teams with budgets $1M+

• Demonstrated knowledge of business development practices and interest in growing a business

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel

• Significant attention to detail

Preferred:

• Certification(s) (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Government Grants Manager (CGGM))

MBA or MA/MS in a related field is a plus
