We are seeking an experienced engineer to develop, debug, and integrate mixed mode analog and digital circuitry, and function as a subject matter expert in signal integrity analysis. Our team provides efficient, forward-looking, and functionally innovative solutions that help solve critical technical challenges for our sponsors. We apply our systems, hardware, and software design and development expertise to a variety of applications across APL mission areas. Your technical leadership will keep us on the cutting edge of capabilities in digital, analog, and RF embedded systems design.

As our Signal Integrity Engineer

  • You will perform signal and power integrity analysis for high-reliability digital and analog electronic circuitry.
  • You will design circuits employing devices such as FPGAs, DSPs, DDR4 memory, and LEON processors.
  • You will design and analyze circuits using PCIe, SATA, USB3, SERDES, and other high-speed interfaces.
  • You will design and analyze circuits using LVCMOS, HSTL, SSTL, LVDS, LVPECL, and other high-speed signaling standards.
  • You will write specifications and present design trade-off analyses and implementation recommendations to engineering teams at design reviews.


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you

  • Have a Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Have at least 5+ years of successful experience in the design and development of embedded systems electronics with a focus on signal and power integrity analysis using tools such as HyperLynx, SPICE, and ANSYS.
  • Are passionate about circuit and signal details that lead to successful and reliable solutions.
  • Have experience communicating with a variety of disciplines, levels of staff, and task sponsors to guide them to optimal technical implementations.
  • Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you

  • Have a PhD degree in electrical engineering or related field with demonstrated application of knowledge.
  • Have demonstrated knowledge in channel modeling, PDN methodology development, simultaneous switching analysis, crosstalk reduction, and EMI reduction and shielding.
  • Are a recognized expert with publications in signal and power integrity analysis.
