We are seeking a

Sr. Mainframe Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring and operational control associated with the multi-platform environment consisting of

Windows, Linux, Unix and the mainframe.

Position Responsibilities;
  • Perform complex technical work on the mainframe enterprise server as well as on other platforms and execute preventive and corrective maintenance whenever necessary.
  • Use Computer Associates

    UC4 Automic batch scheduler, views system message logs,
  • Identifies incomplete jobs that did not process correctly, and initiates actions required to reprocess aborted or incorrect jobs.
  • Monitors data center,

    WAN, LAN, systems infrastructure, and critical applications from a centralized

    Network Operations Center (NOC), ensuring high-availability and attainment of adopted service levels.
  • Investigates alerts and alarms down to root cause for repair and or/dispatch.
  • Provide IT Service Desk support & desktop support, take calls from endusers, create IT service trouble tickets, trouble shoot desktop issues, provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT desktop support for end-users.

Position Requirements;
  • Over Four

    (4) years of computer operations experience in a large corporate environment using

    mainframe, Windows, and Linux platforms;
  • Experience in fundamental system and database administration, tuning, backup/recovery and support;
  • Computer operations experience in an

    OS390 mainframe environment with

    JES2, MVS CA-1 and CA-7 skills and

    JCL, CA UC4

    Atomic workload batch scheduler.
  • Experience with data center monitoring tools like

    SolarWinds, Traverse, APC StruxureWare, and Oracle OEM.
  • Extensive knowledge of data entry methods, operations, and computer processing procedures;
  • Advanced technical skills in

    JES2, MVS CA-1 and CA-7;
  • Advanced knowledge of job control and multi-platform scheduling; Knowledge of fundamental system and database administration, tuning, backup/recovery and support methods best practices;
  • A good working knowledge of

    FM-200 Fire Suppression Systems and how to respond to an alarm(s) and who to call following our SOP;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical discipline.
  • Preferred: ITIL Intermediate Certification.
