We currently have PRN Security Guard openings!This position performs a variety of security and safety related function while involved in the safeguarding of residents, visitors, employees and property of facility. This position will be responsible for enforcing all NLCS policies, parking regulations, interaction with guests and assisting residents and staff when needed. This employee will be required to exercise initiative and discretion when faced with emergency conditions.Some Responsibilities Include:
Reports breaches of policies to Environmental Services Director or other designated Administrator.
Conducts routine facility and property patrols
Submits log of daily activities and irregularities.
Participates in ensuring against unauthorized people on facility campus. Guards against and maintains security of premises.
Reports all incidents immediately to the appropriate supervisor or administrator.
Answers alarms and investigates disturbances.
Responds to fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events.
Escorts or provides motor vehicle assistance to residents, staff or visitors when requested (i.e. jump start vehicles and assist with flat tires).
Responsible for enforcing facility parking regulations and traffic control.
Notifies the Environmental Services Director of any maintenance items that need to be addressed.
Performs package checks as required. Raises and lowers flag at the appropriate times.
Secures and unlocks all designated doors at the appropriate times.
Some Job Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred. One year of experience in a security related field is preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license in state of work and good driving record. Relate and work well with others.
Attention to record keeping and documentation of work performed.
Possess a working knowledge of applicable state laws, especially those dealing with the use of force and detention.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office- Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
