Mission success and customer satisfaction are our highest priorities.The Systems Administrator , with storage focus, supports all software and hardware upgrades, patching, issue troubleshooting, migrations, workstation/server/peripheral maintenance, and system monitoring. The Systems Administrator will work with the Help Desk, other System Administrators, Network Engineers, Database Administrators, Cybersecurity personnel, and leadership team members to ensure these activities are planned, scheduled, communicated, and executed in accordance with established policies and processes.ResponsibilitiesWork you’ll doAs a Systems Administrator within our NMRC team, you will:Install, configure, maintain, and provision storage equipment, including NetApp, EMC Isilon, Rubrik, and virtual tape libraries.

Understand and troubleshoot SMB, NFS, and CIFS shares.

Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Windows laptops and desktops, Windows servers, iPhones, printers, and VTC

Provide technical and functional video, audio, and web conferencing support to NMRC staff.

Perform weekly maintenance consisting of vulnerability patching, server maintenance and patching, required reboots of servers as needed, and other systems administration

Manage network/user/non-personal entity/e-mail accounts and perform password management.

Create and review support documentation for Help Desk team knowledge base and NMRC end

Coordinate with Defense Health Agency (DHA) DISA TIER 1 support to enable and maintain DoD Mobility Unclassified Capability (DMUC) software and functions of mobile

Utilize System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to deploy applications and manage network computers by creating task sequences, preparing, and deploying software packages, executing queries, and running reports,

Assist in maintaining infrastructure for IT security in coordination with NMRC IT staff, including but not limited to managing AD, file system permissions, anti-virus, firewalls, databases, and other

Support NMRC's asset management, tracking, inventory support, and life cycle management program for servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and standalone scientific

Triage and troubleshoot all manner of IT issues, including account/authentication issues, hardware and software issues, network and VPN issues, and issues relating to mobile

Install, configure, and maintain storage hardware backup inclusive of physical plus virtual tape libraries or drives along with disk storage targets.

Provide architecture and performance recommendations to DBAs, Network Engineers, and others as requested.

Develop and maintain documentation for the storage solution and daily operations.

Develop, implement, and maintain COOP/data recovery plans and methods.

Other duties as assigned

QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required

Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred

3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator

Experience with HPUX, AIX, and LINUX (RedHat and SUSE) system administration

Experience implementing STIG configurations

Experience with NetApp, Rubrik, and/or EMC Isilon

Storage appliance training or certification

Security+ CE

Operating System certification - Windows or Linux

Secret clearance required

Required:Possess working knowledge of backup concepts and practices, including experience with backup retention, scheduling, replication for disaster recovery purposes, and full and incremental backup technologies.

Experience with automating tools for monitoring, response, and testing as well as scripting or programming experience.

Experience implementing, managing, and troubleshooting NetApp and Rubrik.

Unix and/or NT administration experience.

Understanding of database backup/restore mechanisms.

Clearly and effectively communicate with team members.

Read, create, and maintain detailed documentation.

Participate in group collaborations and project planning.

Communicate issues and solutions effectively.

Experience with VMWare 5.x, RHEL 6.x, and Oracle Linux.

Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and learn new systems and software.

Ability to speak professionally and efficiently when presenting information to both internal and external customers/employees, including high-ranking military personnel.
