Budgets and Contracts Analyst (Accounting, Boston)

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Salary: 55K to 60K depending on experience

Responsibilities:

The Budgets and Contracts Analyst is a member of the Budgets & Contracts Department and partners with funders, program management, executive staff and other Business Office departments to provide fiscal oversight for some of Bay Cove’s distinct service areas.By utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Great Plains Dynamics, Dayforce HRIS, billing and subsidiary sources, the Analyst develops budgets and other fiscal projections, and performs monthly internal auditing and analysis on operational activities and budget versus actual variances.The Analyst identifies and investigates trends and issues, and communicates findings through financial and written reports and presentations.The Analyst negotiates funding contract terms, completes contract paperwork, contract budgets and amendments and other reporting as needed with our funders.This person is a resource for information sharing and problem solving, advising on financial impacts of programmatic decisions, and training on cost coding and budgeting to non-financial staff.High level Excel, ability to manage multiple priorities, desire to learn various program models, and work in a diverse, dynamic and growing organization is essential for this role.

Qualifications:

Degree from an accredited School or College with an emphasis in the Accounting, Finance, Human Services Management, or related field.Three years of experience in fiscal analysis and preparing and interpreting financial reports and statements.Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of budget and contract administration.Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting and payroll software systems and reporting functions.Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, manipulate, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Comfortable in a high visibility setting, collaborating with people at all levels and effectively communicating by both written and oral means.Ability to comprehend program structures, goals, objectives, operations and contractual requirements and to relate knowledge of GAAP principles, State and Federal regulations as they apply to Massachusetts Human Service providers while adhering to Bay Cove’s internal budgets, policies, and payroll systems.
