Grant Accountant - University Opening
We have an immediate need to have an accomplished Grant Accountant join our team at one of the most reputable Universities world-wide. The ideal candidate should have at least 1-3 years' experience working with Grants be it on the finance or accounting end of it. This position is open due to the previous Grant Accountant being promoted into a Grant Manager role. The day to day responsibilities would include processing and tracking the grant funds that are brought in as well as helping to prepare financial statements and post general ledger entries. This is an excellent chance to get your foot in the door of a growing department joining an experienced group of 6 other professionals reporting to the Director of Grant Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Posting of all general ledger transactions
- Preparation of financial statements
- Posting of all journal entries
- Prepare sales/use tax pre-review research and perform preliminary inquiries for businesses and customers within jurisdiction
- Perform detailed general ledger reconciliations
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 1 to 3 years of grants experience
- The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- A high degree of analytical ability
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
