Our client, an investment firm in Boston, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis. This role will manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have Expertise with 13F, 13G, 13D, and other SEC investment manager reports and data requirements. The main tools used by this role are Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Visio, Markit EDM, Eagle PACE, and Microsoft Office. Recommend appropriate solutions and write functional specifications, map data, and write ad hoc queries
Elicit and document the client's business requirements, processes and workflows
Develop both written and visual depictions of requirements and process flows
Prioritize, log, and track tasks, user issues, defects, enhancements and work requests
Manage projects across multiple departments to design and implement business process changes
Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to the developers building solutions
Perform QA testing of developed deliverables and assist business with User Acceptance Testing
Analyze and resolve production system issues, process ad hoc user requests, and generate reports
Partner with key stakeholders to translate business needs into technology requirements
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably buy-side
10+ years of experience as a business analyst working in collaboration with software development
Expertise with 13F, 13G, 13D, and other SEC investment manager reports and data requirements
Experience with OTC Derivatives, ETD, Equity, and Fixed Income security mastering and trading
Strong understanding of buy-side Investment Data and Asset Management industry
Experience with compliance systems or regulatory reporting systems is a plus
Strong SQL, Excel, and data skills
