Hands-on general manager
Is this the job for you? I am the owner of Lice Aunties, which has been in business since 2008 and I am looking for a new general manager. Our wonderful general manager of many years is moving out of the area. This is a great opportunity for the right person.
We are woman owned, and one of the oldest, and most well -regarded head lice removal companies in Greater Boston. We are locally owned and operated and have two salons- in Newton Upper Falls and Burlington. Since 2008, we have treated over 10,000 families for head lice. We take great care of our customers and great care of our employees. We are nimble, entrepreneurial, and open to new ways of working and managing. We are a company with a lot of integrity, We guarantee our work. We love what we do.
You are the face of Lice Aunties. You have great people skills and enjoy managing staff. You have a strong work ethic. You can deal with sudden shifts in schedules and managing two locations. You are undaunted by head lice and composed and kind while calming anxious children and nervous moms and dads.
You are looking for a business that you will treat as your own- future ownership would be a possibility.
The GM has complete operational responsibility for salons in Newton Upper Falls and Burlington.
Ideal candidates will be:
Patient and kind to children and the adults who love them;
Experienced managing and motivating a team;
Upbeat and friendly;
Hands-on and willing to do what it takes to get the job done;
Able to work with a sense of urgency and a sense of humor;
Not squeamish about head lice!
Specific Duties include:
Responding to requests for appointments;
Communicating by phone and online ;
Treating and eliminating head lice;
Hiring, training, scheduling and managing a staff of part-time, on call lice professionals;
Ensuring profitability of the business by strategic scheduling of clients and staff;
Modeling excellent client service and best practices to the team;
Local marketing and cultivation of key channels (pediatric practices, school nurses, hair salons, preschools, etc.)
Social media savvy;
Knowledge of QuickBooks (although we have a bookkeeper) and general computer skills;
Tracking, ordering and purchasing inventory and salon supplies.
This is a full time job but you control your schedule.
Lice Aunties is open 7 days a week, 363 days a year, by appointment.
Salary: $50,000 per year base plus up to a 50% bonus based on the profitability of the company.
