The company is headquartered in Boston, MA, with additional offices in Memphis, TN, Research Triangle Park, NC, Sydney, Australia, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and São Paulo, Brazil.http://www.indigoag.com/ As an Imaging Data Scientist on our GeoInnovation team, you will use your knowledge of image processing principles, experience with handling geospatial data from a variety of sources at different scales, and skills with analytical techniques applied to agricultural problems to help create infrastructure and understanding directed toward creating a living map of the world’s food supply and a beneficial agriculture.Responsibilities
Build deep understanding of existing algorithms and imaging data assets
Build automated QC pipeline for existing and future imaging data
Evaluate different imaging platforms and technologies
Develop algorithms towards to UAV, MAV, Satellite applications in digital agriculture
Contribute to components of in-flight imaging analyses and development
Take ownership of discrete tasks, delivering on challenging deadlines
Collaborate with Engineering staff on scaling your work
Competencies
Fluent in Python (preferred) or R, capable of framing problems as programming tasks from the ground up, as well as working with existing code
Can use and understand geospatial/statistical/machine learning libraries in Python
Can work with and understand a wide range of geospatial data formats
Can build a variety of effective algorithms at field/sub-field level to solve real-world problems and help growers/producers with their decision making
Can use git for day-to-day version control
Strong knowledge of image processing and remote sensing
Knowledge of GIS concepts and some experience with non-RS (including vector) geospatial data
Can translate the results of complex analyses into interpretable results, visually and verbally
Able to create and execute their own tasks with minimal direction
Works well both as a team member and independently
Writes reasonably well-documented, maintainable code in a collaborative environment
Qualifications
Masters or PhD degree with a quantitative focus preferred
Substantive 1-2 years experience in a software or technology focused environment
Some experience 6+ months with AWS, Google Cloud, or other large scale computing environment
Familiarity with these subjects are strongly preferred: digital agriculture, crop physiology, optical sensors, signal processing, deep learning, snowflake
