We are looking for an experienced graphic designer to join the Her Campus Media team full-time in a remote capacity January 2021. As Designer, you’ll be joining as a mid-level member of the team. This opportunity offers the ability to work on a variety of projects with autonomy, as well as the flexibility to develop skills as an individual contributor and/or manager. Our award-winning design team serves a variety of needs, including:
conceptualizing and designing advertising and marketing campaigns for our clients
producing creative content for social and editorial channels
fulfilling in-house branding and communication needs
collaborating directly with stakeholders across the entire company
identifying, researching, and implementing relevant design trends, innovations, and technologies
co-managing Her Campus Media’s design internship program and supervising one or more of your own interns
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or other relevant field
2-3 years experience working as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, media brand, or similar client-facing environment
Diverse portfolio that demonstrates outstanding creativity and technical skill in graphic design
Strong digital/social/web design background
Outstanding color selection, typography, and composition skills to communicate creative concepts
A full and fluent knowledge of current design tools and software in the Adobe Creative Suite (Including but not limited to Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and AfterEffects)
Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate and pitch design concepts clearly and confidently
Interest in and understanding of how to meet and adapt to business and client objectives
Comfortable giving design critiques while encouraging others to share their ideas and nurturing creativity
Confidence to be bold, experimental, and take risks with your work
Ability to work well independently and collaborate effectively in team settings (in-office and remotely)
Experience with Squarespace, Ceros, and motion/animation software a plus

We intend to move quickly to finalize a hire by February. You can expect four rounds of interviews, including an initial phone screen and subsequent interviews with the Senior Designer (hiring manager), a group interview with the entire design team, and a final round with the Her Campus Media co-founders. You will also be asked to submit two work samples during the interview process to demonstrate your design skill and understanding of working with our brand.
