Director, Application Architecture
Director, Application Architecture (full-time)
Boston, MA
The Director, Application Architecture role is a new position for Softworld's Investment Management client reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. The Director is responsible for:
Collaborating with business and technology leads and senior management to delivery requirements, roadmaps, and a clear achievable vision of future state architectures
Establishing and maintaining architecture standards and best practices across all Investment Management client applications and solutions
Integrating security, consistency, modularity, testability, and resiliency into all components of application design, implementation, deployment, and support
The Director must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-team collaboration and partnerships across a variety of internal and external constituencies.
Qualifications:
Experience leading small development organizations towards best practices at all levels of application development, including standards, security, modularity, testing, resiliency, deployment, and support
Front-office asset management experience with an understanding of Trading and Operations, Portfolio Analysis, Construction, and Risk, and Quantitative Research processes
Hands-on experience developing for both on-premises and Azure solutions
Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
10+ years hands-on software development experience
5+ years' experience utilizing container and cloud centric technologies
8+ years Java development experience
5+ years Spring development experience
5+ years modern web technologies experience
Experience with Python, data science technologies, and related cloud capabilities
Solid understanding of OWASP application standards
Degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree
