Digital Surgery Software Architecture. This position will be based out of San Francisco, CA or other US based J&J site and reports to

software engineering leader who is interested in leading, designing,
developing, and fielding advanced software solutions that innovate and have
direct impact to Patients and Medical Devices. The role requires an in-depth
knowledge of existing advanced software engineering practices and approaches
including Software as a Service, DevOps, Robotics, Virtual Reality, Big
Data/Visualization and Multi-Cloud. The ability to influence and convince
others, leadership and creativity to invent, customize and work in a
multidisciplinary environment to drive business solutions.You’ll work among high performing
engineering, design and product teams. Some of the traits we are looking for
include: deep technical hands on- knowledge, stubbornness against settling,
bold decision-making, and thinking outside of the box.The new Director must bring strong
thought leadership around devops, software architecture, design and strategy
experience while seeking out opportunities for simplification, and capability
enablement; Finally, the ability to collaborate and influence other leaders and
the team.Specific
Responsibilities:Director Digital Surgery Software
Architecture for MD will have end-to-end global responsibility for creating and
aligning a Digital Surgery Software Architecture with strategic business intent
and establishing the technology capabilities for Enterprise-level business
solutions Provides software architecture
direction and guidance; ensures alignment with best of breed open source technologies;
Drives consistency and quality of the Architecture artifacts Guidance provided to Software
Architects to develop project level requirements and establish compliance with
software architecture, enterprise and functional area strategic roadmapsEstablishment
of software interoperability across functional domainsAlignment with internal teams to
verify budget and resource commitment to support roadmaps (via architecture
dependencies and prioritization)QualificationsM.S. or M.A. in Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.A minimum of 10+
years’ experience in Hands-on Agile software design and architecture
experience.Proven
experience in devops best practices in consulting, solution development,
architecture and delivery. This
includes proven success in roles within an enterprise software firm or Big 4
Consulting leading and supporting teams that services clients.We are looking for a Software
Architect with a broad understanding of Digital Technology and how it can be applied
to move our healthcare solutions forward. Candidates should possess deep
knowledge across technologies and have a strong hands-on background in software
engineering,
Deep Knowledge
in software design & development in Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
platform, Internet of Things, MicroServices/SOA, Streaming Technologies,
Integration Patterns and Open Source Software.
Experience leading a
software team to design and develop sophisticated software.
Expert knowledge of
software developement patterns and utility frameworks
Experienced with
design, build, deployment, and configuration management systems for
heterogeneous, multi-platform software. Must have expert-level skills with
software development tools (Devops, CM, bug tracking, source control etc.)
and development process.
Hands-on knowledge
of software development in data streaming frameworks(Spark, Flink, Kafka,
Samza), Big Data Stores(Casandra, Redshift, Impala, Biquery etc.
Must be adept at
handling complexity and ambiguity. Must be skilled in developing strong
cross-functional partnerships.-
Experience with leading multi-company teams and global
efforts are preferred. Previous people management experience is preferred.
