This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing and dynamic communications team at the world’s largest environmental sciences company! The Internal Communications Manager position is responsible for the execution of strategies and plans that engage, align and inspire employees with Veolia North America’s vision and business goals. This role leads the internal communications effort and ensures integration and alignment with parallel external programs. This is a perfect role for a highly motivated, organized, technically savvy communicator that knows how to juggle priorities, drive employee engagement and navigate change management with grace and efficiency.
Develop, manage and execute internal communications programs across all North American business units and facilities to drive awareness of company-wide priorities and initiatives.
Develop and implement an annual internal communications plan that supports VNA annual objectives and strategic goals.
Supervise and oversee operation and/or production of internal information products, channels and programs as well as communication components of various corporate initiatives, ensuring alignment with VNA brand messaging.
Act as a liaison with the global Veolia internal communications team as needed to lead efforts to localize and execute campaigns in North America.
Support and counsel senior management on internal communications issues, strategies and tactics
Draft and coordinate internal communication products such as speeches, presentations and talking points for senior management.
Develop organizational process/procedures for developing and maintaining the company's intranet
Assist with the development, coordination and execution of internal communications and projects including videos, monthly company meetings and other projects as assigned.
Manage communications calendar and processes to ensure the right level of exposure for company initiatives, as well as measurement and tracking activities.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations from an accredited university
5 to 7 years’ experience in the field of internal corporate communications, preferably in a highly geographically dispersed organization with multiple field offices
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as journalistic ability to source stories from an employee’s perspective
Familiarity with marketing and communications concepts and how to apply them to drive employee engagement
Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with communications and HR departments
Professionalism and confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques and processes to them and their delegates
Creative ability to devise communication strategies
Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video media
Demonstrated knowledge of communication technologies and platforms used within best practice internal communications program
Demonstrated knowledge of Associated Press style and ability to write clearly and concisely
Demonstrated executive-level writing skills, including high-level correspondence, news writing, script writing and speech writing
Ability to quickly understand, summarize and translate strategic business and technical information into concise and crisply written communications plans, articles, and other communication materials suitable for an internal audience
Experience applying best practices in corporate communications and managing internal (employee) information programs
Experience supporting or leading internal communications programs independently with associates, managers and executives at all levels in a large, complex organization
Experience managing multiple and changing priorities, including project management, with competing deadlines; ability to adapt to frequent changes; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively and efficiently
Experience with a corporate intranet and how it can be used to both shape and reflect corporate culture. Knowledge of using social media to communicate internally a plus
