Job Description

The Practice Coordinator provides clerical support to ambulatory department clinical staff and customer service for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs general office work including greeting and checking in patients, faxing, filing, mailing, correspondence, copying, ordering supplies, calendar management and mail distribution.
  • Prepares medical records and documentation for patient visits, including loading of information into the EMR system.
  • Takes an active role in monitoring patient flow in clinic and communicating delays to patients and providers.
  • Assists with revenue cycle clearance, including registration accuracy, referral management and insurance verification.
  • Assists with billing charge entry and reconciliation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Participates in performance improvement projects and may perform other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years medical office experience or customer service experience required.
  • Prior experience working in a clinic or hospital environment preferred.
  • Computer literacy required, including familiarity with email, Microsoft Office programs and scheduling applications. Ability to learn and use Tufts network programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills, both oral and written. Bilingual skills preferred
  • Some knowledge of third party billing preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidential medical information.
