The centrifugation business is looking for a Senior Field Applications Scientist to support the growth of Analytical Ultra Centrifuge (AUC) in North America. You should be a strong team player with a collaborative mind-set, able to partner effectively with internal teams, cross-functional experts, external collaborators, and customers.A candidate primed for success will be a self-starter, who has a strong passion to advance science especially in rapidly growing biotherapeutics such as gene therapy, antibodies and proteins, with keen attention to detail, ability to learn application information, and apply it to customers’ situations. Critical responsibilities are to:

Provide guidance and support to sales team by participating in the pre-sale customer qualification process including instrument and software demonstration.

Contribute to financial growth objectives of AUC through pre- and post- sales activities.

Maintain AUC Sample Testing Program to build AUC sales funnel and customer confidence.

Act as consultant to the implementation and support of customer applications within your territory. This includes on-site customer training, method development and general support on AUC.

Promote and coordinate AUC user groups meetings.

Creation of applications content to expand AUC applications.

Build, foster and maintain KOL relationships.

Collaborate with customers for joint publications.

Develop simplified/standardized methods for target applications.

Develop and maintain deep understanding of the major 3rd party analysis software; UltraScan & SedFit

Build great relationships with fellow FAS team, sales reps and field service engineers so as to unify the overall customer experience.

Seek ways to contribute to FAS team efficiency and process improvements.

Manage territory workload effectively including daily management of required administrative duties.

Adhere to required standard work associated with job.

Travel within and outside territory to support business and customer needs. Qualification

MS or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 5 years of recent laboratory experience.

Experience using Analytical Ultracentrifuge for biologic characterization is required.

Familiarity with biotherapeutic (and other) production and purification workflows in GMP environments, such as viruses/virus-like particles, antibodies and other proteins, exosomes and lipid vesicles, nanoparticles, and polymers is preferred.

Working knowledge of UltraScan and SedFit analysis software.

Strong passion to advance science, especially in rapidly growing fields like gene therapy.

Comfortable interacting with customers and KOL’s to develop Application Proof Points (Articles, Videos)

Additional experience with alternative characterization techniques like HPLC, DLS, and EM is preferred.

Ability to write scientific reports (for customer experiments and instrument qualifications)

Continues to develop depth of knowledge by reading scientific and technical literature, and keeps up with leading trends/applications in the marketplace.

Prioritizes work load to manage competing demands.

Follows all company safety policies & other safety precautions within work area.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Travel required (50-75%).
