Senior SDET - Software Development Engineer in Test Boston, MA or Richmond, VA (Remote now, but most be local for on-site post-Covid) U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor at this time. Long Term Contract - Starts at 12 Months. Extensions likely and will convert full-time, if desired.
Requires coding experience with Java, preferably Java 8.
As an SDET you will collaborate with user experience and software development professionals to define test execution plans that ensure tactical automation coverage is provided for the work on a sprint-by-sprint basis.
Each sprint, you will write automation tests and create new test harnesses. As necessary, you will implement new automation tools and create automated test systems. Over the first three months, you will help define the test automation plan and test automation environment for your team while delivering upon sprint goals for the team.
Three months and beyond, you’ll help ensure the foundation you establish with your team facilitates best practices and build a community of practice across multiple scrum teams.
Success Criteria
Create and review test cases to maximize potential for automated test execution
Implement programmatic tests at varying scope (unit, component integration, system integration, performance)
Design and implement tools and frameworks to simplify test development, including simulators/mocks and data generators
Build test infrastructure to fit into our CI platform
Assess and evaluate new tools and testing methodologies
Provided peer feedback in design and code reviews

What You’ll Need
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline
5+ years as a Software Development Engineer in Test
Solid programming experience in one or more object-oriented languages such as Java, , Javascript, Python, or C# (most of our development is in Java, with some other JVM languages)
Experience with Unit test frameworks or other integration test frameworks (open source or commercial)
Expeirence with JMeter
Familiarity with RDBS and SQL
Understanding of TDD, BDD, and data-driven test practices
Bonus:
Knowledge of Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Bamboo, Confluence)
Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban)
Familiarity with performance, scalability or security/pentest.
Knowledge of Chaos engineering
Knowledge of VM test environments and/or cloud-based compute environments
