RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's has a client who is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing organization. In this role, you will use analysis and critical thinking skills to determine and assess user needs and then create software solutions to meet these requirements.
Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer:
The Senior Software Engineer will develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas and following the software development life cycle
Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions
As the Senior Software Engineer, you will document and demonstrate solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, clear code as well as providing Proof of Concepts and documentation when needed
Improve operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures
Provide information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing development and service issues
Support and develop Software Engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities
Collaborate with team to brainstorm and create new products
Grow engineering teams by interviewing, recruiting and hiring
Make informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services and applications at scale
Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
Be a persistent, creative problem-solver
The Senior Software Engineer will update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study; Master's degree preferred
10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer; Experience must span multiple areas of Software Engineering such as Back-End, Front-End, DevOps, and others
Fluent with functional, imperative and object-oriented (OOP) languages and modeling skills (Java, JavaScript, Python are a plus)
Knowledge of modern SPA frameworks such as React, Angular and other similar frameworks
Knowledge and experience with automation and tooling
Experience working with 24x7 systems
Experience with AWS Cloud based services such as:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools such as AWS CloudFormation
ECS (Fargate), CodeBuild, CodePipeline, Lambda, Step Functions, Batch, Athena, SQS, SNS, etc.
MediaPackage, MediaLive, MediaConvert are a plus
Experience with the complete SDLC and working in an Agile environment. Scrum@Scale experience is a plus
Eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies
Ability to thrive in a virtual work enterprise along with flexibility, energy and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility on work hours (we support international clients and OE Teams)
Knowledge and experience with Node.js are a plus
