The Shipper / Receiver is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all products that are received and/or shipped out of a specific location during the assigned shift.During their shift, Shipper/ Receivers work together in three main functions of the department: receiving, inventory control and cooler operations and shipping. They will work to company guidelines with respect to quality control, safety, and standard operating procedures to execute an accurate and on-time shipping function under the direction of shipping operations leadership. This position reports to the Shipping & Receiving Manager in charge of a given shift (AM, MID, PM) in Boston.
Assist with the flow of goods; shipping and receiving of product
Obtain and process product orders
Receive, register and distributing packages and letters within the company
Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items
Assist with large shipments and planning of the logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items
Keep files of goods shipped and received
Ensure that the right products are delivered to that right location, on time
Assist with the assurance that quality, quantity, and customer satisfaction are met
Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of coolers and warehouse orders
Tracking and reporting to leadership: back-orders short-list items, and unfulfilled orders
Requirements
1+ years, experience in a Shipping or Receiving position
1+ years, experience operating forklifts
Experience in food manufacturing; seafood or meat processing a plus
Fork-Lift Certification required
Able to operate company inventory equipment (such as scan guns), required
Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Able to provide support to department managers to achieve goals
Able to maintain an environment that drives performance and a safe workplace
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds
Work up to a 10-hour workday: standing/walking most of the day
Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit
Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
Ability to work Monday-Friday, weekends when needed
Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives
