IntroductionAs an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.Your Role and Responsibilities
Experience developing data heavy, back-end micro-apps and micro-batches and data APIs
Document design and implementation details and be comfortable explaining them to other engineers
Technical experience:
Java, Python with pySpark and Scala languages
AWS/Openshift environment with CI/CD, testing automation and monitoring automation
containerized app development and deployment (Docker and Kubernetes)
integrating apps with Message bus (e.g., Kafka) and NoSQL and Object Storage (S3, Cassandra, DymanoDB, MongoDB, etc.) as well as streaming processing (Spark Streaming)
Handling data interchange in JSON format (with YAML definitions)
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 8 years working with Java
At least 4 years working with Python/pySpark and Scala
At least 4 years implementing containerized, scalable (Docker & Kubernetes) micro-apps on cloud
At least 4 years app development with DevOps automation (CI/CD - automated unit, regression and build test, auto deployments, app versioning)
At least 4 years app development with instrumentation for performance monitoring
At least 8 years of experience with designing and tuning performance sensitive, data heavy, back-end apps
At least 4 years Integrating apps with Relational and non-Relational storage and message bus (e.g., Kafka) with native or JSON interfaces
At least 4 years of experience with streaming and batch data processing apps on Hadoop ecosystem (Spark and Spark Streaming)
At least 5 years of experience leading and mentoring junior app engineers
At least 3 years of experience with AWS
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
At Least 5 years of experience documenting design and implementation of micro-apps and APIs
At least 5 years of experience with Agile Delivery
