The Grants Administrator is responsible for managing a portfolio of sponsored and non-sponsored funds for Mechanical Engineering faculty. The Grants Administrator is a member of a faculty support team that provides the best possible customer service to the PI and lab members in support of their research activities. They will work closely with the Principal Investigator and colleagues in the offices of Sponsored Programs, Grant and Contract Accounting, grant funding agencies, and the College of Engineering to ensure awards are administered in accordance with established guidelines. They will manage expenses for internal and external awards and respond to issues related to award administration. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Research Administration, the Grants Administrator will be responsible for advising and assisting a portfolio of assigned faculty with the development and submission of proposals for sponsored research; management of all financial accounts; and representing the assigned faculty in communication with university administrative offices and federal and private funding agencies for sponsored research. The incumbent must have extensive knowledge of Uniform Guidance and federal sponsor guidelines. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and maintenance of resources and administrative infrastructure to assist faculty in developing group proposals and will work on special projects as assigned. The incumbent will also use the independent judgment and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance with sponsor and donor regulations as well as University and College policies.
