Our names are John and Deb. We have both been disabled since childhood, and need a woman PCA for Deb on Weekend Mornings and Evenings.
Little or no experience as a PCA is fine because we train, and those with no experience often work out very well.
Hours on Saturday: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 5 PM to 6:30 PM
Hours on Sunday: 7:45 AM to 9:15 AM and 5 PM to 6:30 PM
Deb is a total quadriplegic due to cerebral palsy. She uses a hoyer lift for transfer, and needs help with bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming. She also needs to be fed breakfast. We also need some light housework done.
She uses her hoyer lift differently from most people, but you will find that her way is easier for both her and you. She also has a speech defect, so she needs a PCA who is patient and able to learn her speech patterns.
John cheerfully helps the PCA as much as he can, keeping things easy (and sometimes entertaining) for the PCA.
We are a fun Christian couple, married for 18 years, who treat our PCAs like family. We do our best to provide a pleasant working environment.
