The Bedford Research Foundation is seeking a Program Coordinator/Laboratory Technician for its world renowned and unique SPAR (Special Program of Assisted Reproduction) program.
This position is a backbone of the Foundation’s daily operations. Working closely with a small, friendly staff of medical and research professionals the SPAR program coordinator impacts the Foundation’s overall goals on all levels. From performing routine laboratory duties and co-ordinating patient visits and care, scheduling appointments, shipping specimens, and organizing necessary meetings and schedules for Foundation staff and director, to organizing data and presenting on the program’s role in helping to combat this serious women’s health issue, the SPAR Program Coordinator is a main outward facing component of overall Foundation operations.
This position should have have office and laboratory experience, and a bachelor’s degree is required. Excellent organizational skills, a willingness to develop and maintain systems for sensitive data retrieval, extensive patient care experience, and the ability to work with a very very busy team on a day to day basis to get projects and tasks accomplished is also necessary.
This position also maintains financial records, and is responsible for billing and follow up on patient accounts, and must have an excellent understanding of accounting practices and procedures, while being able to work within confidentiality constraints.
The Bedford Research Foundation is a small team that collaborates extensively and this position may help with fundraising, other research projects, and related office tasks. Must be extremely self motivated and require very little input after initial training is completed. This is a perfect job for somebody who is honest, can follow instructions, has a friendly demeanor, and is capable of deeply researching problems to achieve high performance solutions.
This is a full time position (40 hrs per week) with health benefits.

Phlebotomy experience preferred
BS in Biology or related field of study a must
Nursing experience preferred
Experienced laboratory technician
Experience with PCR platforms
Outstanding office skills and experience
Strong communication skills
Computer literacy: email, word processing, data entry, internet searches. (We have a Mac based facility, but have found that those who are good with a PC can make the transition easily.)
Ability to work independently – we have a small (but efficient) staff, every member of our team must be able to set their own goals and stay on target with their productivity.
Outstanding patient care skills
Ability to follow instructions specifically
