MAINTENANCE PLANNER, Facilities-Central Utility Plant (CUP), to be responsibleunder general direction from the maintenance managerfor planning corrective, predictive, and outage maintenance work. Will order repair parts, maintain the repair parts inventory spaces, contract with outside vendors for materials and services, and ensure outside vendors are compliant with MIT CUP’s cyber security policy while utilizing its SAP computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient planning of all maintenance activities at the CUP for electrical, instrumentation and control, and mechanical maintenance personnel using the CMMS system in place; working with maintenance and operations personnel and CUP engineering staff to ensure the CUP systems and equipment are maintained at the highest achievable state of readiness; communicating within the department and the Institute and with outside contractors and agencies; assisting maintenance supervisor in prioritizing work based on critical systems and equipment requirements, production needs, and the age of work orders; and coordinating maintenance efforts with plant operations to ensure long-term reliability while simultaneously meeting production requirements. Will occasionally act as maintenance supervisor and as back-up maintenance manager and respond to calls and emergencies on a 24-hour basis in those two roles. Job RequirementsREQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least five years’ trade or engineering experience, in-depth understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices and principles, experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
