This position, within R&D IT, supports the efficient and effective operations in the Project and Portfolio Management (PPfM) function, including governance processes, financial management, data analysis and tracking for the R&D IT portfolio of projects. Typical activities include:
Facilitate the project request intake and approval process.
Participate heavily in monthly financial processes. Work with relevant department and team members to ensure accurate financial tracking through activities such as budget forecasting, monthly reporting of actuals/accruals/variances, and reconciliations with Finance.
Perform data analyses to gather and report metrics related to the state of the R&D IT Project Portfolio including project performance and resourcing. Develop dashboards and other BI tools, as needed.
Generate relevant weekly, monthly and intermittent reports for use by the PPfM team and to present to senior management.
Communicate, train and coach department members to enable better skill and adherence to departmental processes relating to PPfM.
Help ensure projects/programs are delivered in adherence with SDLC standards throughout their lifecycle.
When required, lead small- to moderate-sized projects or programs. 5+ years experience working as an IT professional managing projects in the Pharma-Biotech Industry. Experience in R&D IT preferred.
Experience with financial management including accruals, reconciliation, forecasting and reporting.
Experience working in a GxP environment and good working knowledge of SDLCs.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Process-oriented with very strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Strong collaborative, customer-service mindset.
Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools; proficiency with business analytics tools, such as PowerBI, a plus; experience with a budget forecasting tool, such as Hyperion, preferred.
