The Dental Project Specialist is responsible for managing the caseload of HIV+ dental patients receiving care at all Harbor Sites.

Essential Functions:

• Provides treatment coordination for new and existing HIV+ dental patients including intake into Ryan White program and semi-annual assessments; obtaining eligibility verification.

• Tracks total allowable charges in Cap on Charges for all HIV+ Dental patients annually and ensures accurate Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

• Trains dental staff and case managers on program procedures, workflows and educational updates.

• Manages and oversees referral and intake into Ryan White Dental Ombudsman program, including facilitation of prior authorizations and coordination with billing department on reimbursements.

• Maintains relationships with AIDS Service Organizations (ASO’s) and Community based Organizations (CBO’s) across all Harbor Sites coordinating Memorandums of Understanding annually.

• Develops strategies for recruitment and retention of HIV+ individuals into dental care at Harbor Health Services and assists in coordination of treatment

• Oversees and maintains relationships with Dental Schools including facilitation of specialty referral workflows.

• Documents timely and appropriately in individual electronic health records.

• Facilitates and participates in quarterly open access dental clinics and consumer engagement events.

• Attends dental staff meetings addressing improvements and educational needs of staff.

• Manages, coordinates and participates in a great variety of administrative, educational and clinical activities related to community-based clinical and educational programs related to the provision of dental care to individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

• Acts as lead point of contact for dental providers and dental program staff.

• Coordinates with lead dental roles at Harbor Sites, and continues to have direct patient related care with HIV+ Dental Patients at HCHC-Hyannis

• Establishes and assesses workflows for HIV+ Dental patients practices and procedures including check in, billing, check out, scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations.

• Travels to each Harbor Dental Site at least quarterly for trainings, coordination, dental provider support and collaboration.

Required/Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services or Related Field required,.

3 years of experience working in a professional capacity in a Human Services organization.

Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to prioritize, organize and schedule busy work days.

Basic business writing and written and verbal communication skills.

Intermediate skills in effectively using Microsoft Office applications: specifically, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Proven skills in public speaking.

Must be able to travel in a timely manner to all Harbor Sites.

LSW or MSW Preferred.

Can substitute MSW for two years of experience or four years of experience in Case Management for the Bachelor's.
