Peer Specialist (Southeast Emergency Service Program Cape Cod/Islands, Hyannis)

Schedule: Full-time 40

Salary: 36,000

Bay Cove Human Services partners with people to overcome challenges and realize personal potential. Job Summary: The Peer Specialist will work as a member of the Southeast Emergency Services Team, in collaboration with clinical staff. S/he will work with individual clients and their identified supports to facilitate connection to community institutions and the recovery learning community. Peer Specialist staff may help identify activities for clients and help them to build networks of supportive relationships. They will support other team staff in helping participants in all aspects of their recovery, including developing active and fulfilling roles in their communities. This position is non-exempt. Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Responsibilities:

Engage in relationship building with designated individuals served by the team.

Engage in specific coaching or educational services to clients and the team including WRAP and Wellness Planning, and skills training.

Write notes, enter data, and review progress in accordance with BMC documentation standards.

Works to expand emergency service program awareness to the Outer Cape by outreaching community providers, ride alongs with local police, and presentations to other community providers and supports.

Aid with 7 day adult follow up for individuals who have recently been evaluated and/or discharged from our CCS program.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Certified Peer Specialist Certification required. A high school degree or high school equivalency diploma

Willingness and ability to serve as a mentor to others who are in the process of recovery by sharing their own recovery experience.

Computer literate in Windows, Word and the internet.

Driving License Required? Yes
